Used System with a New owner

Hi I bought a week ago the 2018 model of SimpliSafe Security system in used condition on eBay.
The system came from him with no Instruction or Master PIN number.
I emailed him over the eBay message system with no response as yet.
So, my question is: Is there another way that I can reset this system without his Master PIN #s and create my own?
Thank you,
Vic

@marvic1.roadster you do need the master pin to set up the account to start. On a new system it is, by default 0000 and then you can change it to whatever you want.  You can try that but probably the system has the old owner's pin. Try it. If it fails, you will have to call support, open daily (except major holidays) 8am to midnight eastern.  The support staff is friendly and, if they don't have an answer for you, just politely ask for a supervisor.  BTW, the 24.99 interactive plan is, in my opinion, best way to go and is the best value in the industry for what you get.  Best of luck with your SS3 (which is the one I hope you got).

Hi @marvic1.roadster,

As long as the system is in Off mode, the Master PIN can be reset by holding down both the menu and delete buttons on the Keypad at the same time for about 10 seconds. Once the Master PIN has been reset, you can now program in whichever PIN you would like to use going forward.

Thank you for your reply, yes I would like to get the complete interactive monitoring plan if I can get this ting to work..

Question: Which DEVICE holds the Master PIN, the Key Board or Base unit?

If I need to I would buy a new Key Pad or Base unit in order to get the existing devices I have working.
I now have: 1 Base Unit - 2 Key Boards - 2 break glass - 2 Motion detectors - 1 Key remote ring - 22 Window/Door sensors - External alarm - Security Camera and a Panic Push button.

Even after doing as you said it keeps going home and if I hit OFF button it asks for PIN
Don't think the system is in OFF mode. Keep saying HOME on the screen..

@marvic1.roadster, as in my last post, suggest you call support to walk through this.

Thank you Captain11
I was able to contact Customer support, and the person was way over the top very helpful in getting my system a new Master Pin #.
Now I'm going to have fun setting up all of my devices and see what happens from there....
I did sign up for the $24.95 plan...
Again thank you!

@ marvic1.roadster no thanks needed, and congrats on your system.   The system is extremely flexible and after a while you will get to optimal for your specific use.  Also if you use a google site search, you will find many customers who have done "hacks" to make the system even better, although it may void your warranty.  I copied a youtube video to use a door hinge and a SS entry sensor to make a very nice and effective garage door sensor.  Also, word of caution on the smoke and CO sensors. Make sure you locate them only where recommended, and clean them as directed. I didn't at first and had false alarms.  As my wife reminded me RTOMS. (Read the owners manual, stupid!) :-)
