Finally upgraded to Gen 3. Can the Gen 2 Smoke detectors work as "stand alone" detectors? We've purchased new Gen 3 detectors, but thought using the old ones (redundancy) wouldn't be a bad idea?!?

Hi @tkhips ,
Yes, all versions of the SimpliSafe Smoke Detector are able to function as regular smoke detectors on their own, without needing to be connected to a system.
You already know, but the only difference is that Gen 3 Smoke Detectors can only communicate with Gen 3 Base Stations (and vice versa).
