support won’t cancel service with device numbers

called to cancel but they won’t without device numbers. they said device numbers are used to identity me. that makes no sense. they could easily ask all the other identifying questions like email, phone number, card on file, etc.   instead i call to get put on hold to be transferred to someone then they want me to email my number to someone else to cancel service!!!!  NOTICE: cancel my service.

Hi @odies,

In order to cancel your monitoring plan, our Support team needs to verbally verify your Safe Word to confirm that this is you making the request. If you do not have a Safe Word set up, or are subscribed to a plan that does not require a Safe Word, our agents would then need to verbally verify the serial number of your Base Station or one of your cameras. 

This process is to ensure that we know it's you contacting our Support team, and that the cancellation request is authentic.
