Sound w/o wifi
Will the system still work properly if there's no wifi connection?
I would assume so, because everything is battery powered except the cameras. The sensors and alarm should alert if the power goes out since the sensors are battery powered and dispatch is always available right?.

Yes the base station has a built-in cell chip inside so it can still be monitored by simplisafe and you can see in your time line where it will say automatic test signal received and that let's you know they pinged your system and it came back to them. The only thing that has to have wifi is all the cameras but do know this if you want to receive regular firmware updates to the system itself it has to be connto wifi so if you do not have it then you will have to take the base station and all keypads with you somewhere where you can hook it up to wifi and do your updates then bring it back home

Worth noting that per https://support.simplisafe.com/articles/using-your-system/do-i-need-a-wifi-connection-or-computer-to-use-simplisafe/63447a21d9a8b404da76cc0c you need Wi-Fi to use the mobile app as well.
