Please don't call unless something's wrong.

I like to tinker with my system and devices from time to time. I would really prefer not to receive a call from the monitoring center every time I test a device. Is there a way to opt out of this?

There is an easy way.  Put your system in test mode. When you get the automated call from COPS, opt for speaking to an agent.  Once connected, ask them to put your entire system in test, no calls, for x amount of time.

You can also call Tech Support, provide your safe word and they will do the same thing. Works fine. I do it every other month for a period of two hours, to clean my smoke and CO sensors, check mounting of all the sensors etc.

@captain11 That's very cumbersome. I hoped to opt out entirely. In any case, thanks for your expertise, Captain.

Right, as the Captain mentioned, I would suggest giving our Support team a call at 800-548-9508. The agent can put your system into what we call a "Practice Period", where dispatch is disabled entirely for all types of alarm, for a set period of time. We can set it for as short as 15 minutes, or as long as 72 hours.

Of course, because this changes whether or not you'll receive emergency dispatch at all, that's why we require that you call in so we can verify your Safe Word passcode.

How do you opt out permanently?  I don’t want a dispatch person calling me or the authorities called.  I just want a text sent to me and other numbers
