Answering machine

My primary phone number is to my house phone, which has an answering machine.  If the alarm is triggered, and the dispatch center calls, what happens if they get the answering machine?  Would they call the secondary phone number?

Answering machines on one of the two primary notification numbers won't cut it; they move on to the 2nd.  For our account, we list my wife and I, "John & Mary Doe" on the account name and then put in my cell number and then my wife's.  Works well and have never had an issue.

I had a water sensor alarm yesterday when I was moving it and it was in the palm of my hand (that caused it to alarm because I tested it again that way). My cell is my primary contact and I didn't have it with me and COPS monitoring left a message on it and they called my 2nd contact and I picked up while they were leaving a message on it. They also did not ask for my safe word but asked me my name and address. Maybe it was because it was a water sensor alarm and not a different sensor alarm.

So, it appears they will leave a message on the machine, and then call the secondary number.  That is what I was wondering.  Thanks for the replies.

COPS, in my experience, has been consistently great.  SS Customer service seems to be resourced challenged Nov through early February each year, hopefully, they will plan for a smooth 2018 holiday season.

Like I said, maybe it was handled the way it was because it was a water sensor and not a sensor signalling a break in. I don't have a freeze sensor but I wonder if it is also handled the same way since it does not signal a break in.

@Lee, this would be an excellent topic for the hopefully planned "live webinar series" you and other associates at SS can host at the new Gucci Customer Support Center (GCSC) Has a nice ring to it. :-)
