"Wireless Interference Detected" voice prompt from SS system.
For the last couple of weeks my SimpliSafe system has started alerting me via the voice system stating "wireless interference detected". I've had the system for a few months and I've never experienced this issue before. I contacted support via the technical support hotline and I was told to move my base station closer to my wifi router (AT&T Internet provider). The base station is already in the same room as the router (maybe 3-4 feet in distance between the two) so the tech support person said it should be near a window (it's about 2 feet from the window). When I asked if there is a way to assess what might be causing the interference I was told he would need to talk to a supervisor and put me on hold. After waiting nearly 10 minutes on hold I hung up. Does anyone have any suggestions? It's quite annoying and unnerving hearing a loud voice at 4AM saying "Wireless interference detected". We have not added any new wireless devices in our household and I had no problems in the first few months of having the system. Why would this start happening now? Any suggestions?

The feature was recently activated as part of the latest Firmware Update. Wireless interference isn't necessarily going to stop your system from working altogether, but it can reduce the range and can impact performance.
One key thing is that it's looking for interference in the local wireless. So while making sure that your WiFi router, or any other advanced WiFi-based device is kept away might help, you might also want to look for simpler devices that use the same frequency as the Base Station and sensors. That could be devices that you wouldn't immediately think would be a problem - like wireless weather stations, remote controlled garage door openers, or walkie-talkies from nearby construction.
Hopefully we can identify whatever is causing that interference! For more info on troubleshooting this issue, click here.

By the way, have you applied the latest update (from around 10/19/18)?

The voice prompt "wireless interference detected" refers to a wireless signal in your home that is interfering with a sensor(s) and your Base Station.
Wireless interference can come from, wireless routers, kitchen appliances, smart TVs, radios, cell phones. In your post, you mention that your router is about 3-4 feet away from your Base Station. We recommend moving your Base Station further away from your router and let us know if you continue to hear this voice prompt.

The message specifically means that the Base Station itself is detecting wireless interference. That is, that it's sensing another device is transmitting at a frequency that it's using right now. We're looking for simpler devices, so not WiFi or cell devices. As I said above, more like remote controlled garage door openers, some baby monitors, wireless weather stations, etc.
If you have trouble, give our team a call at 1-888-957-4675 and we might be able to help you troubleshoot.

I called Simply Safe about this annoying wireless interference message and they were able to get it turned off "with supervisor approval".
I have tried to move the base station everywhere, but wireless signals exist in all rooms. It was said by some tech's that cell phones, echo dots, or google home would not cause the alert but I can literally make the alert happen by holding these devices next to the base station.
If it becomes a nuisance, I would call and have it disabled as well.
Thanks

Anyone else having the wireless interference issue may try the base station reboot to see if that could work for you.
