Wire Guard VPN and ADGuard Home DNS

All right here goes. I just installed ADGuard Home that is a DNS ad blocker and Wire Guard a VPN (Protocall) whichn requires port forwarding. So my question is would settig a DNS server cause the cameras not to work? Or would directing the trafic to a certain port cause the issue even though the cameras were not connect to the VPN?

Hi there!


As far as I'm aware, those apps shouldn't stop the cameras from functioning entirely. Though you might get some severe latency, which might result in some recordings not going through.

@davey_d​  I'm thinking my biggest issue is my mesh routers honestly but wnated to see. We have Tp-Link Deco S$'s and sometimes they seem sub par. From what I seen their lack of being able to set a DNS for the guest wifi caused issues.

We also hae a lot of dropped recording because of them but we were using them due to weak coverage for the wifi.
