WiFi extender?

Has anyone purchased a WiFi extender to reach their outdoor cameras? I think that's causing the issue with my new camera. The extender I purchased creates such slow internet speeds that it can't handle the camera. It rated 4.5 stars out of thousands of reviews so I don't even know what kind I should trust to get next.

Not specifically, but I use a "Wi-fi Extender" for one camera's connection. My main Wifi router is a TP-Link brand (not what came from my Internet provider). I tried other extenders with poor results. It wasn't until I bought a TP-Link brand extender that connections matched the main routers speed. Make sure you use the same SSID for the extender as on the main router. It makes for seamless connections.

My router also isn't the one that came with my internet provider, but unfortunately they don't seem to make a wifi-extender. That was my first go-to as well.
