Why didn't my siren go off during alarm event ? No phone call either.

I'm. A new SimpliSafe customer.  After a break in two weeks ago, I bought and installed a new SimpliSafe system yesterday.

I had the alarm on Home mode last night for the first night home with the system.  At about 3AM, the front door sensor fell off the front door (double sided tape failed)

I woke up this morning to a triggered alarm.

My concerns :

1.  No siren sounded.  The alarm was triggered for hours.  Why didn't my siren go off?  I see it on my dashboard.  Everything looks normal

2.  Why didn't i get any phone calls?  I'm on the 24/7 support plan.

This was not a confidence inspiring first night.  :-(

@errivera75 you have to sign up for monitoring (just want confirm for sure you did) and there is a 72 hour waiting/test period. If you want out of the test period, call SS and have them start your active monitoring immediately.  If you log into your dashboard, does it say your automatic daily test signal received?

Thank you I wasn't aware about the 72 hour period

That makes sense

Any ideas why the siren wouldn't go off .

@errivera75 my apologies, I missed that. The siren should have. Did you check your timeline and see if the daily test signal was confirmed? When you say siren, the aux and base siren, or just the base siren? How do you have your base configured for the siren? (Make sure it is not set to off; mine is on high)

I have my siren set to:

  • alarm=high
  • entry and exit beeps=medium
  • door chime=medium

status also says "ok" in the devices-->settings page

From what I can tell, it looks like the siren should function normally in an alarm situation.  I'll have to conduct another test of the system.

Since you have siren set to hear entry and exit beeps, do you hear them?

If not, maybe there are issues with the siren.

My guess is your extra siren is not working for some reason, but the base station should have had an alarm as well.  The base is not all that loud tho and may not have been heard if it's in another room and you were asleep with a door shut.  Also, the alarm won't go off all night long, it only goes off for a few minutes.  A maximum of 8, default was less.
