Testing
My Base Unit is not within earshot of some of my sensors. This means I cannot hear the base unit when I test a sensor (and am alone).
Does anyone have an idea or trick so that I can test and verify operation by myself?

The simplest solution (without physical effort) is Captain's. Or you can unplug the Base Station and take it with you. Since it has a battery backup, it will still work as if you plugged it in, and you will be able to hear everything.

1. Do you have two cellphones? Or land line and cellphone? Call one from the other, put it next to the base station. (I have a VoIP landline and a cell phone.)
2. Multi-handset cordless phones? Most have "intercom"; activate it and put one handset by the base.
3. FRS radios? Rubberband one of the push-to-talk buttons on and put it near (not too close) the base. Note that FRS operates on 462 MHz while SS operates on 432 MHz. There is some possibility of interference, or at least desensitizing the base station so it won't "hear" the sensors as well.
4. Baby monitor? See #3

I think the easiest for me is the cordless phone intercom feature. The phones are just sitting there waiting to be used :-)
Captain11 - I king of got accustomed to that pleasant voice and would miss it (and it's warnings). Unit not in an accessible place anyway. Also, ------ I'm not my wife :-) just had to use her ID at times.
My most often used entry sensors are starting to need a battery change. It's been at least a couple of years.
Great gang here.
Good health to all.
