status cycling

I came home this afternoon to find the keypad cycling through the status buttons repetitively: off/home/away. I had left the system unarmed when I left the house. Clicking the off button seemed to resolve the issue. I’ve never seen this behavior before. What does it mean? Is the system safe to use?

@krisplus5 The light sequence you are describing shows when the keypad is rebooting after a firmware update or the initital install.  I would take the batteries out, wait about 20 seconds, put them back in and let it boot up again. For peace of mind, suggest you call SS support to troubleshoot. If there is signal inteference it may cause the keypad to loose connection, or, it is defective and will have to be replaced.  If you do have to get a new unit, you may want to remove it from your system and use another keypad or use the key fob (if you have one) to arm and disarm.

Pleaes post your outcome here if you get a chance.

@captain11 Thanks for this info - this could be entirely what was happening - an update - as later that day when I used the app to set it to home, I got the notice that an update was happening. Everything seems to be working fine. Appreciate the response.
