Not sure I can press off on keyfob and app but if I press that on keypad it needs pin

I realize I wasn't specific in my comment. I don't need to enter a PIN on the keypad. I thought it was necessary, I've always done it.

I have monitoring and the app simply does not ask for a PIN number for disarming.  This seems like a flaw in the design to me.

You have already given credentials to use the app when you signed into it, that's why it doesn't ask for more automatically. That said, you have several options at this point if you are concerned about someone else getting hold of your phone -

1. you can log out of the app after each time you use it, thereby forcing a log in requirement to use it again for disarm/arm
2. you could set up "Configure App Lock" in the settings under your account name in the app, so you have to enter a PIN before you can use the app
3. you could set up a screen lock on your phone so the app can't be accessed until the phone is unlocked
4. you could do all the above or any combination

There are plenty of ways to control it.

I don't use the app, except to check the cameras. I was referring only to the keypad. Turns out I was testing the PIN before the alarm was enabled, i.e. during the countdown. A brain melt. The alarm works as it should.

If the alarm is fully armed I need to enter a PIN to disarm/turn off. However, if the system is still in the arming countdown/delay time then pressing "OFF" cancels the countdown without a PIN entry, and of course the system then doesn't arm.

Sweet mother of pearl. I guess I knew getting old would be like this. I was pressing OFF during the countdown, not after the system was already armed. A day or two ago, I had set the alarm, then realized I forgot something, and canceled it before it was armed. The funny thing is I pressed OFF, when I meant to enter the PIN, then wondered why that worked. Then each time I've tried to test it, I've been disabling before the countdown is finished. Thanks for solving this problem (that never existed).

Just installed my system- no pin is required to be entered on the keypad to disarm the system at any time - this is very insecure!
