What error messages or other symptoms are you seeing? That might help us narrow down what's happening.
But the first thing that comes to mind is that there might be too much interference between the Keypad and your Base Station, so it has to work harder than normal to maintain a connection. I would suggest moving your Base Station closer, if at all possible.
