Keypad lighting up

My keypad lights up every night about 2:00am for no apparent reason. No one is near it and the sensors are not activated. Why does it do this? I've only had the system about a month.

Any one have an idea?

Thanks

Mine was a bad batch of keypads.  3rd replacement came from a different batch. No more problems.

Here it is 4 years later and this problem still exists.  My keypad, which sits on the wall all by itself, comes on at night randomly for about 20 or 30 seconds.  It's annoying because it's bright enough to throw light into two bedrooms.  And no, I have not tried disabling the touch to wake feature because I need that feature as the keypad in in a dark area.  Besides, I should not have to disable any of the system's features to prevent a defective keypad from acting  up.

@bstnh1 I have had the same problem for years with no help from SimpliSafe.  Wish they would make a comment about it but it appears it is an Epidemic type problem which may cause a recall.

What is the problem with the unit coming on in the middle of the night?  I understand you replaced some of these units for this problem, is this correct?

@jomdkm if your Keypad near anything that produces heat - like a vent? It could be that a random burst of hot air around the Keypad is waking up the device. In that case, we would recommend turning on Power Savings Mode to rule this out. You can do this on the Keypad by navigating to Menu > Devices > select [your Keypad] > Power Savings and then toggle the setting on.

But if turning on Power Savings doesn't help, we would then recommend contacting our Support team for further help.

The unit is in the same place always.  Both heat and cool do come out of the register not far  away but I do not have that much a problem with the cool.  Also, I have 5 key pads and they all do it at different times.

Still an issue, 5 years later. Lmao

We have had the same problem for 2 years now and it is very annoying.  I believe this is a bug that needs to be addressed by Simplisafe and the whole power saving mode seems to be a weak work-around from a known issue.  Why is it that everyone on this forum is complaining, but Simplisafe is not saying that it is an issue or needs to be addressed.  All you have to do is read that many of those here are indicating this is not because of a heat register falsely sensing a person/hand in the proximity sensor.  Either the hardware has a bad design or the proximity sensors used in the control panels are flawed.

I don't understand how turning off a feature is a solution. If I have a noisy muffler after taking it to a mechanic I guess the solution is just don't drive the car anymore. If Simplisafe is working on the issue for so long why isn't there a solution? Or maybe just be honest and tell everyone the issue isn't important enough to solve.

Mine does this as well!! I have turned the power saving and it still does it!! We all seem to be having issues with SS and their system, but yet they keep INCREASING the monthly fee!!! For what? Fix your freaking problem or I may start a class action lawsuit with my attorney!! I'm tired of their lies and deception!!
