Keypad Batteries Drain
I have a Simplisafe system at my home and my business. My home system is almost 4 years old and now the keypad batteries only last about 5 weeks. I called support and was told that possibly the location of the keypad (near electrical switch) could cause the problem but it has worked well in that location for the last few years. They also suggested that I try rechargeable batteries, taking the time to remove them from time to time and recharging. They also offered to send a replacement keypad and I might have them do this.
The system at my business has two keypads one of which has never worked well. That one is not near the tower and I thought that might be the problem. The tech on the phone today said it should not affect it. Simplisafe sent a replacement keypad but that one drains the batteries as well. We just stopped using that entry because you never knew if you would find a dead keypad when you entered.
Has anyone had any success hard wiring the keypads to run from electric? I am welcome to any suggestions.
