Keyfob causes false alarms

The keyfob is a cool design, but it has caused our last 5 false alarms from the Home or Away buttons being depressed while another key presses against the keyfob buttons, while in a pants pocket.  We have no knowledge that the system was armed and open a door, window, or walk past a motion sensor.  Our previous system had a delay built into the circuitry of the keyfob that came with that system.  Meaning that you had to keep a key pressed a key for 3 seconds to arm or disarm the system.  Surely, a 3 second delay for Home or Away can be programmed into the options for the keyfob.  The keyfob is so much more convenient than using a smartphone App to arm or disarm when leaving or returning to home.  Smartphones don't always have reception, battery, and for most require two free hands to use.   We are removing our keyfobs from our keychains and disabling from Simplisafe.  It's too bad that we will lose the panic button capability in the Keyfob.

I carry mine on a lanyard around my neck.  Can't be falsely triggered or lost, and very difficult to steal.

Same fob issue here. We have only had the system for a couple of months and leave the house infrequently, but the fob in a bag/pocket has unknowingly set our alarm THREE times. I phoned SS about this and also suggested that a safety mechanism be built in - button be depressed twice or pressed for a couple of seconds or some such. Seems like such a design flaw...

Or you can hang it on a lanyard around your neck.  No false alarms, and it's difficult to lose or have it stolen.
