Is it normal for the keyfob battery to die after 3 or 4 months?

I've also had the base station replaced so I dunno..maybe the keypad?

I only guess that due to the Key Fob being a wireless device, perhaps yours are draining due to another source. I say this because if SimpliSafe has replaced your Base Station, that would most likely rule it out as a cause. However, I do not believe the Fobs communicate with the Keypad. So, could it be interference from another device in or around your residence? I am at a loss. Your issue is the first time (that I recall) I have read Key Fobs exhibiting this behavior. The regular reports of battery drain are usually regarding the Keypad.

If it happens to me , I will chalk it up to too much junk in my pockets. It's a transmitter and if a button is pressed the battery will be used up faster. Transmit always uses more power than receive. I agree that its  wrong to not be able to change the battery. And I'm pretty sure I will find a way to do it, it may not be pretty but it will work. Meanwhile I have been looking for some sort of sleeve to go over the case so the buttons can't be pressed accidently.  HINT HINT SS anyone?

Some people have mentioned getting a short hunk of hose/tubing which just fits over it.

I found a Case Logic usb holder on Amazon( sorry I do not have the link) was only a couple dollars and works great for the ss3 fob. It attaches to keyring and will protect false activations unless you really try hard.
