Indoor camera shows stale picture

Hi!

I have an indoor camera wrapped in an outdoor rubber kit and mounted outdoors. It is powered and set to only record when the system is in either Home or Away mode. Yet, whenever I connect to it from the app in order to get a live view, it shows me the last frame it recorded weeks ago instead of the live view. I have two other cameras that work fine.

Have other folks had this problem?

Update: I went outside and asked for a live view as I was standing in front of the camera.The shutter opened, and the light started blinking blue. The app said "Connecting..." After a few seconds, the shutter closed and the blue blinking light stopped. The app continued to say "Connecting..." The camera's LED is not blinking red to indicate no Wifi connection.

Update2: I tried again. This time, it was able to connect. It showed me the stale picture. I spoke into the mic and could hear my own voice. So, I don't think there's a connection issue.

Thanks for checking in about this. It sounds like your camera is frozen, and a reboot might help. You can just power-cycle by uplugging the power adapter.


If that doesn't work, then perhaps you'll need to reset. You can do that by holding the button on the top for 16 seconds, and when you release, it should wipe itself and restore to factory settings. From there, you can reinstall from the SimpliSafe app like a new camera.
