Right now no, the minimum for Entry Delay in Away Mode is 30 seconds. However, you can set individual sensors to Instant Trigger - which means they'll always ignore the countdown completely and start an alarm right away.
We recommend that you leave the countdown for at least the door you normally come in through. But you can definitely set ALL sensors to Instant Trigger, just as long as you remember to disarm your system before opening any doors.
@Johnny M on previous posts it was my understanding you could call in and a support agent could manually override and put in a lower figure. Has this changed?
I just checked my Entry Delay in Away Mode, and it is still 10 seconds. So yes, I had to call in to have it lowered, but upon reading
Johnny M.'s response, I hope that it has not defaulted back to 30 seconds. The 10 seconds were my running as quickly as possible to the Base Station (knowing the location). Thirty seconds is too long, and I would be apprehensive if it were at that delay.
I will be watching this thread to see if the setting option has changed.
You're right, I shouldn't have implied that it's
impossible. Our Support team is able to override that setting over the phone (after confirming your Safe Word passcode, of course). Just bear in mind that after that, if you change your settings on your own (through the Keypad or your app), that is likely to put any overridden settings back to default.
@davey_d I just talked to Support and they spoke to their supervisor and was told this CANNOT be changed. The Entry Delay cannot be less than 30 seconds and the Exit Delay cannot be less than 45 seconds. This is annoying (and makes no sense IMO) and it was apparently a waste of my time to call. So either this statement above from Johny M. @ SimpliSafe is inaccurate of both the Support person and their supervisor that I just spoke to are misinformed. Which is it?
@Gregg our last response was over a year ago, so things might have changed in the Support team since then. It is true that there used to be a way to override the timer from our end, but as we also mentioned, as soon as you made any changes on your end, the default value would return. So that may be why the option is no longer available.
