Entry sensor "unresponsive", only to wake up when opening that entry.

We have had a rash of these this month.  A sensor will go "unresponsive" and if we opened that window or door, the error will clear and the sensor goes back online.

Hi @beermug, does this issue happen with the same sensor each time, or is it intermittent across multiple sensors? Generally speaking, when the sensor is in use (such as opening a door) it will try to communicate back to the Base Station. This is why you may see it become responsive again and wake up during that time.

In most cases, the issue is the result of low batteries in the sensors, or the sensors being just slightly too far away from the Base Station. There's a quick test to confirm this in this Help Center article. Let me know if you hear the Base Station announce the sensor when performing the test, or any other details you think might help.

@beermug Definitely contact support. That behaviour is not normal. Make sure your base is off the floor, away from electrical and radio devices etc. Mine is on a bureau away from anything electrical and connects fine to my 40+ devices in a two story 2600 colonial.  If no luck, then call support.  It could be an issue with your base too.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance. Good luck and season's greetings.

Thank you for the replies.  I will keep everything you mentioned in mind and reply back with my findings.  I am in the process of moving, which is what prompted my support question.  Before the move, it was a lower priority.

I am more concerned now since the new place is bigger in area and has an upstairs.  Once everything is settled, I will report back on the behavior.
