Does Simplisafe work with Alexa Guard?

Agree with integration; however, Alexa guard would have to trigger Simplisafe (not the other way around). This is currently in effect with Alexa Guard integration with ADT systems.

"Alexa, I'm leaving" triggers Alexa Guard to set to "away" on the ADT system. Currently, Alexa integration with Simplisafe only allows you to set Home and Away but not Off. So, Simplisafe would have to allow Alexa to set to Off in order to fully integrate.  I'd like to see this happen. If not, I'd appreciate hearing from Simplisafe why they aren't interested and/or planning on integrating.

We need Guard integration.  The most basic desirable function would be for Simplisafe to signal Echo Guard that we have left (away mode) and we have returned (disarmed).  That would save us from having to remember to tell Echo we are leaving or we have returned. Many people don't have an echo near the front door so this adds more convenience than you might initially imagine.

This would not in any way effect the security of the Simplisafe alarm. All you need to do is signal Guard that we are away or we are back.  It is a one way signal (out only), would need no input and so would compromise nothing. Easy peasy and it would be super slick.

Echo Guard can vary lighting and simulate other human activity throughout the day and night in the 'away' mode (play radios etc). It also listens for glass break and various alarms/sirens. At this time it *does not* signal any monitoring center or alert authorities, it merely alerts the homeowner and perhaps any neighbors.

I have seven Echos throughout my home/garage etc. Being able to trigger such a complimentary home security AI layer with a simple button on my Simplisafe keypad (the away button) is a pretty BFD. Talk about extending the power of my Simplisafe system!

It is sort of hard to believe you have no integration plans. This is low hanging fruit.

In the future Echo Guard may get ever more security AI tricks up its sleeve, and if Simplisafe doesn't get on board with basic integration they will get left behind. I'll be the first one on the train out of the station.

So please, get on it. Don't get left behind.

It'd be amazing if Alexa could monitor all the entry devices in order to trigger routines...

Shame I have to put multiple devices on a door in order to get some automation.

I set a Routine for Guard to come on daily, but I'd have to either tell Alexa to turn it off or manually turn it off in the Alexa app. I've decided to just leave Guard on at all times because it doesn't seem to interfere with anything. It would be nice if Amazon programmed Alexa to optionally disable Guard when you start talking to Alexa because clearly at that point you're home.

Guard does not tell me when my alarm goes off, but it does alert me if a smoke detector goes off or if it detects a sound that sounds like breaking glass. Its glass break sensor is more sensitive than SimpliSafe; though, these were all false alarms. But the glass break sensors for SS3 seem a lot less sensitive than SS2. I've only been able to trigger them while banging a mason jar with a fork within a few feet or inches, so I am grateful to have Guard as an option and added layer of protection.

I was testing the glass break sensors in normal mode with delayed alarm so I could cancel during the countdown.

Hmmm...I've not yet ever heard of any users who reported the glass breaks didn't work as intended.  A couple people have posted their experiences - Captain took actual glass windows and shattered them with a hammer, the glass breaks triggered the alarm.  Someone else reported someone accidently dropped a baking sheet in the kitchen and their glass break triggered the alarm.

Not sure about this, but maybe place your glassbreaks closer to the windows/glass doors you need to cover?  A few feet away with your test sounds like it would be normal for distance.  I don't think I'd put them TOO far away.
