Disconnect loudspeaker(cut wires)

Hi Simplysafers, just got my new system: base, keypad, camera and door sensor with great discount.

I need to physically disconnect loudspeaker wires inside of the base, as we have a small kids very sensitive to loud sound (mental dissab)

Base is charging now, but not activated yet.
So question is, will it start alarm if box opened and speaker wires are cut.
Does it have any triggers inside to alarm if box opened?

How to disconnect speaker completely at new system ? Very important to do that

thx for answers

@malikin.mail you can configure your base to be completely quiet and not light up. No chime, no voice prompts, no nothing, that is, unless it alarms or an enviornmental sensor is set off.

You can set the Siren Volume, Entry Sensor Chime, Voice Prompts, and Base Station Light to Off.

Go to System then General Settings. Under Additional Settings, you will see the options there.

Edit: Captain beat me to it (as always ;-)

@malikin.mail

Please do not cut the wires as it is unnecessary and will void your warranty. If you read [Captain's and] my reply above, you can turn off ALL sounds from the Base Station. Go into your account and change all audible settings to off. And no, it will not sound the alarm by simply taking the Base and sensors out of the box. However, again, I would strongly suggest disabling all audible alerts from the Base Station before setting up your system just in case.

Hi malikin.mail,

We would strongly agree. Disconnecting the speaker wire will not trigger an alarm. However, that will disable ALL audio prompts forever - including Test Mode prompts, countdown chirps, battery warnings, etc. You can simply disable all sounds through the Keypad settings - or through the SimpliSafe app, when you have the system connected.
