Changing countdown sound?

I have a relative that has the same system I do (the newest one).
When their system is armed and a sensor is tripped, it plays an alarm-like sound while the countdown to disarm is going.

When my system is tripped, it just plays a beep every second or so during countdown. How do I get the alarm sound to play?

Hi @tgoVIPER - welcome to the community!

The countdown comes from the KeyPad when arming your system and the sound of it cannot be altered. That said, you can adjust the timing of the countdown to be shorter, or longer, if you should choose. You can do this on the SimpliSafe app by going to the three-bar menu in the top left corner and selecting My System > General Settings. Once there, scroll down to where you see HOME and AWAY and you can change the entry and exit delays to varying durations.

Is there a way to turn off the countdown sound?  It is very annoying and not necessary. Thanks

@rayatrujillo​ Unfortunately there is no way to turn off the countdown sound. However, you can shorten the Exit and Entry delays for Home Mode to zero seconds; so when you arm your system into Home Mode, or if you trigger a sensor while in Home Mode, the countdown will not sound.
