Base station slowly flashes red

The base station is slowly flashing red and, when I arm or disarm via the keypad, it says that there is a power outage and I am on battery back up power. The thing is, we the power is not and has not gone off today. I unplugged and plugged it back in and did the whole arm/disarm thing on the keypad and it is still flashing and I still get the message. How do I reset it?
