Arming Reminders unreliable?

Is anyone else having issues reliably receiving reminders to set the alarm?

I'm using the Arming Reminders functionality of the iOS app. It's supposed to send a reminder at 9AM if the system is not armed Monday - Friday. We hardly ever arm the system when leaving the house in the morning and only occasionally do I actually receive one of these reminders. I thought it might have just been because the iOS app was constantly signing me out but since that's been resolved, I am still not receiving the arming reminders regularly.

Hi @myname9876 and @nhamzey ,

We have a confirmed known issue for the Android app, but we're not sure yet if the same issue is present in iOS. I'm checking in with our engineering team to get a better answer for you.

I’ve had the ios app (iPhone 11) since February and have never gotten an arming reminder notification, even though I’ve double/triple checked every notification setting to make sure it’s setup correctly.

When attempting to set an arming reminder, my iphone 13 always gets a “communication failure, try again”, even though I have no communication issues with any other devices or function (and same result if standing next

to the Base Station).  Oddly enough, even though it fails and doesn’t allow me to “Save”, I have received some arming reminders at the time set, but wrong (reminder comes up for “Home” instead of “Off” in the morning).

When attempting to set an arming reminder, my iphone 13 (iOS 16.1.1) always gets a “Communication Unsuccessful, TRY AGAIN” (multiple times when "try again", until I eventually CANCEL), even though I have no communication issues with any other devices or any other function (and same result if standing next to the Base Station).  Oddly enough, even though it fails and doesn’t allow me to “Save” (because it again shows a “Communication Unsuccessful, TRY AGAIN”), so in order to exit from the screen, I have to hit "Don't Save".

HOWEVER, I have received some arming reminders at the TIME SET, but the WRONG MODE (reminder comes up for “Home” instead of “Off” in the morning, or comes up "Off" instead of "Home" in the late evening).  Clearly this application has software bugs.

After posting this, I received a call from Simplisafe Support asking for additional feedback. A couple weeks later, I began receiving the scheduled arming reminders much more regularly.

I think I've received enough arming reminders at this point to consider the issue resolved, for me at least (iPhone 8 on iOS 16.1.1).

How do I cancel arming reminders? Can find no way in app or via website sign in. Using iPhone 12 iOS 16. Reminders are annoying and there is no clear way to manage them.

Hi @jsmjtm1987

On the SimpliSafe app you can cancel an arming reminder at any time by following these steps:

1. Open the three-bar menu on the top left corner of the app

2. Go to My System > Arming Reminders

3. Tap the Arming Reminder in question

4. Scroll down and choose 'X Remove'

If you aren't seeing any arming reminders, or don't have a remove button on it let me know. I'd be happy to troubleshoot further with you.

There is no list of arming reminders after step 2. Just an option to create new ones.

@jsmjtm1987 Try creating a new arming reminder on that list. Then, wait a beat and delete it. If that doesn't solve the issue please let me know and I can get you in touch with a specialist to try a few more things over the phone.

I used to get the push notification and could click on it, the app would open and the system would automatically arm/disarm without needing to select anything in the app. Now, I still get the push notifications but when I click on them the app opens but takes no action by itself. I have to select "off" or "home" for it to take action. Is this a design change? If not how do I fix? Ideally you wouldn't need to click the notification or anything in the app...the system should just arm/disarm at the scheduled time if it's not already in that state.

@mslijepcevic did you happen to switch phones recently?

There is a slight difference in how Arming Reminder notifications work on Android vs iOS (just from how each OS handles them differently).

On iOS, you'll get this notification, with no options. When you tap, the SimpliSafe app should automatically arm to the mode that the Reminder was configured to.

On Android, you'll get this notification, and must select to arm, or modify the reminder.
