I am trying to figure out if anyone has requested, or does this feature exist to NOT have the Away Alarm Countdown Noise, Click Click Click, Beep Bee Beep until the alarm actually goes off in Away Mode. It should be silent.  To me we are just notifying the intruder audibly there is a Alarm, and they can sledge hammer it.

What am I missing?

Make sense?

@jk5598224 What you are describing is actually a feature and the behavior is on purpose. The keypad and aux alarm, if set up that way, will "click, chirp etc" until the alarm goes off to draw attention to the keypad and siren while the base does its thing and then sends the alarm signal to the monitoroing center. Yes, if your system's sensors are not on "instant aleart" and are tripped,  then there is a countdown, or when you enter the house, but with the "right" configuaration, no issue.  (BTW, an intruder can destroy the keypad and aux siren and the alarm signal will still go through).

Now, let me give you a brief walkthrough on my system config: first, ALL of my intrustion sensors, except the one on the door from the garage to the kitchen, is set to instant trigger. Open any of 4 doors, multiple closet doors, drawers etc, the alarm will go off instantly, no countdown.  In home mode, entry and exit is set to 0/0. Open that one entry door in the kitchen and it behaves exactly like it is on instant trigger, and both of my garage doors are also protected with entry sensors.

For away mode the entry delay is set to only 20 seconds (you have to call SS to set that for you) and my base is hidden in a remote part of the house, no sounds, no lights.

Hope this helps. You can also call support for assistance.

Please post any further questions or feedback. Have a great day.

@captain11 Thanks for the explanation, make sense and quite helpful. I've been testing the right config of Instant Trigger(s) between Home and Away. This helps.

Can you please add me to the Beta Camera Order, or DM me URL. I need two new indoor cameras and don't/won't buy the old one.  I plan on upgrading my service soon. thanks.

@jk5598224 I do apologize but can't add you to the beta camera order. I am not a Simplisafe associate, just a customer for 10+ years.  Here is the link to the intro page:

The ratio of asked for to implemented isn't great, especially since some of those requests are literally years old. I'd love to see SS throw more resources at feature requests that the community has been begging, screaming, crying, etc. about for literally years.

@worthing How about a survey sent out by SS to customers asking them to rank what was already requested? As you point out, not many requests have actually been worked on, let alone implemented.

BTW, the press release on their new headquarters in Boston with extensive lab facilities certainly can accelerate their development efforts!

Hey SS, how about a nice news piece here in the community telling us about the new digs and those lab updates?

24/7 recording. Even if it costs extra for only a weeks worth of recordings. $5-$10/mo for 7 days of recording doesnt seem entirely out of reason.

Motion detection doesn't always pick up everything. My example for today was that we had someone coming today to treat our home for mosquitos, and only the front yard camera picked up motion, but there was no indication that he went in the backyard and the motion clips that did record didn't show him going into or from the backyard.

If having local storage was a thing, or being able to save the recording footage to a NAS that'd be even better, but I know Simplisafe prefers a closed environment for security reasons so I wouldn't expect this much. Paying for Storage they maintain though would be a vast improvement worth more money.

@pquirk thanks for the suggestions! If you wouldn't mind, please post each of your great ideas separately, to help us with tracking progress. For more info, check out this post.

Still waiting on the base station to announce what sensors are being opened like front door or back door as it does it during test mode and this has been my #1 since day one.

Been waiting on IFTTT for years.

Lets get it done.

Doorbell Cam should chime through the siren as well as the base station. If the siren can chime when an entry sensor is triggered, it should chime when the doorbell is pressed.

@youknowmatt The chime through your smartphone is pretty good.
