Worthless Cameras

Cameras constantly drop signal and go offline in time of need. They hardly ever connect for more than thirty seconds if at all. Constantly freeze up then drop all together. These cameras are proving to be worthless and a total waste of money. This problem is constant and there has got to be a solution out there to make them work. If not then take them off the market.

Hello,

So sorry to hear that you've been having so much trouble with your cameras. Our engineering team continues the hard work of optimizing our systems for better performance. But in the meantime, have you already tried the troubleshooting steps on our Help Center? And have you been working with our Support team on further steps?

If so, let me know, and I can escalate your case to a senior specialist.

My elderly Mother has exactly the same problem with her system.  The outdoor cameras are nearly worthless in that they take forever to "wake up" if they ever do wake up.  The event has long passed.  I talked to tech services and I reset the cameras as they said.  I re-installed them completely and they worked for the next few hours but that evening, they were off-line most of the time.  I know they are within range of the router because I've tested the signal and data rate whenever they do hook up and they test at the max.  They are so inconsistent it's infuriating.  I never have one hiccup from the indoor cameras.  When we first installed the cameras, they also advertised that the batteries would last from 3-6 months.  Less in high traffic areas.  I get that but neither of these cameras are in high traffic areas.  The battery on the front porch camera won't last a week and the Garage camera will last 2-3 weeks.  I solved that by installing solar panels.  Now the batteries stay fully charged so that can't be the excuse for not working.  My mom and I are NOT happy with the quality of this product.

@highland_mom really sorry to hear about your mother's experience. Our dev team continues work on improving performance for the Outdoor Camera.

In the meantime, there are a couple of things you can try on your end as well - namely to keep in mind that the camera needs to connect not just to your WiFi router, but to the Base Station as well. If at all possible, try moving the Base Station closer to the same side of the house as where your Outdoor Cameras are, or move those cameras to different spots instead.

Again, more updates are on the way. Our engineers thank you for your patience.
