The chime connector is now listed as required in the support document for installing the Video Doorbell Pro?

I was just looking at https://support.simplisafe.com/articles/video-doorbell-pro/video-doorbell-pro-installation-guide/634492f977e4972f8fca9f37 in order to help someone out and I noticed that the chime connector is now listed under the requirements. The list of required items (existing wiring, mechanical chime, transformer and chime connector) is under the following text:

"Before installing your Video Doorbell Pro, it’s important to know that the device requires:"

So is this accurate? If so, when did this change? Also, does this mean the video doorbell pro ships with the chime connector now?

And if it is accurate (so it's required) and it doesn't ship with the chime connector - why not? :)

Hi @worthing,

Our internal teams just recently made the change to include the Chime Connector as one of the Video Doorbell Pro's requirements.

Given the variety of home installations around the country, along with our desire to ensure the best experience for our customers, we have now made the Chime Connector available with all Video Doorbell Pro purchases to minimize any potential buzzing sounds that could be associated with mechanical chimes.

Existing Video Doorbell Pro owners who do not have one currently installed will not need to make any changes. But if they run into a buzzing sound, they can still contact our Support team to receive a Chime Connector for free.

If a newly purchased Video Doorbell Pro was shipped without a Chime Connector, that could have been a mistake at the warehouse. But even in that case, our Support team will be more than happy to send one out free of charge.

I think including the chime connector with the Video Doorbell Pro is a long overdue and very positive change!  (Given the chime connector is just a resistor with some wires, it can't be expensive. Also, hardware isn't where y'all make your money, it's monitoring fees.) This is the kind of change that will undoubtedly improve the customer experience of many people who buy the Video Doorbell Pro.
