Outdoor camera won't reconnect as won't stop flashing blue.

Hi

I disconnected my outdoor camera, and now can't reconnect. 

I just get a flashing blue light, but it's not connected to the base station to record. 

I've ran battery down, recharged, held reset button for 30 seconds, but nothing, still the flashing blue light.

Anyone experience this?

Hey simply safe! Address this problem! A lot of people are having it as of recently. It sounds like your equipment is going defunct and you are ignoring this! If you do not take care of out of date equipment I will find a different company in which to spend my money with!

Ome of mine synced with no problem. The other one is also flashing blue and won't connect. I've charged the battery, taken it out, pur it back in several times.  Nothing is working.

I am having the same issue. Camera won’t reconnect after charging. Now flashing blue. Can’t connect. Can’t reset.

I am having the same issue. Charged them, the app still claimed they were dead so I disconnected them and now they are flashing blue and I cannot reconnect.

@LakeLife @Felterc @robinjeremyland thank you all for reporting. Could you confirm that these are the symptoms you're seeing?

  • Outdoor Camera was previously set up and functioning properly
  • After taking out the battery to recharge, then reinserting, the camera does appear to be powered (lit up, etc.)
  • The camera flashes blue, which is the indicator that it's actively trying to send video to the app
  • But the app itself is not able to connect to the camera

And also have you tried resetting the Outdoor Camera? You can do so by pressing the Pairing Button on the back of the cam for 30 seconds. When you hear the chime, that means the reset was successful, and you can set it up again through the SimpliSafe app.

@davey_d​ I’m on with tech support and have held reset button down 4 times for 30 seconds, it will not reset and blue light keeps flashing.

Are these the symptoms you are seeing?

  • The camera flashes blue, which is the indicator that it's actively trying to send video to the app, but the app itself is not able to connect to the camera

If the above is accurate, I would try resetting the Outdoor Camera. You can do this by pressing the Pairing Button on the back of the camera for 30 seconds. When you hear the chime, that means the reset was successful, and you can set your camera up again through the SimpliSafe app.

I am experiencing this exact issue with my Outdoor camera.

I have tried many times to reset my camera using the "pressing the Pairing Button on the back of the camera for 30 seconds" and that has not worked at all. 

I need SimpliSafe to address this issue immediately as it is compromising the safety. It appears to be a widespread issue that SimpliSafe has not addressed.

I was also sent replacement cameras, for all of mine, and the replacements are exhibiting the exact same issue, this is a much more systemic issue than SimpliSafe is acknowledging

@chris_44ce6f​ when you received your replacement cameras, were you able to initially connect them to your system, or did they have this blinking blue light from the beginning?

Hi, is there a solution to this issue or is the device faulty?  Appears to be quite common, but no mention of what the issue is?  Reset button does nothing.  My other cameras work, so doesn't appear to be base station related.

I'm having the same issue as well. Camera originally worked but i haven't been able to view on the app. Removed camera from system and now it will not reconnect back to the base station. I tried the 30 second reset 2 times with no luck.
