If One Camera Detects Motion, Will All Cameras Record

I have set up my system and been learning it for a week or so.   I can successfully create a setup where a door sensor triggers four cameras to record activity in their zone but how do setup so a camera sensor triggers also triggers an event that does the same.  I have a camera looking out the front window to the porch, and it did not notice my friendly neighborhood Jehovah witness today, I know because the flyer was stuffed in the crack of the door.   And I want the outside camera that watches the driveway to trigger an event that causes all cameras to check in just like the door entry device cause to occur.  What am I missing here… I got over $800 here and still missing the primary mark a vehicle entering the property and a person walking up to the front door.  The house predates electric door bells.

Hi @MSander,

I converted your comment into its own post so we can discuss here! We do not recommend using indoor cameras to look through a window. The passive infrared sensor motion sensor in the camera cannot see through glass, and it will register the window as a wall instead. To record any motion outside, we recommend using our Outdoor Security Camera.

It also sounds like you have your Entry Sensors set to Secret Alert. Secret Alerts count as alarms, and whenever an alarm is triggered all of the cameras on your system will film a short recording. So whenever a sensor set to Secret Alert is triggered, all your cameras will record. Unfortunately, there is no setting that allows all cameras to record once one camera senses motion.

ok good to know did not know about glass issue.   Can I send these  indoor cameras back and apply them towards two additional outdoor cameras with solar chargers?   Or do you have an exterior rated camera that is like the indoor version?

@MSander We do have a 60-day return policy. If you contact our Support team, they can help you set up a return for the Indoor Cameras and purchase the Outdoor Cameras and Solar Panels.

Only eufy cameras can do that where if one triggers you can have them set off the rest. Simplisafe cameras do not do that.

Only is a big word, there are several other brands that upload a short video to the cloud if motion or person is detected. Paid convenience of course for those automations. Plus record 24/7 to SD cards as well.

As to seeing thru glass, OP would need at least, pixel detection with night vision off, ambient light at night etc. and other brands of cameras than these. I have a half dozen looking thru windows in window mounts and thru screens.
