Does the indoor camera trigger an alarm response?

Does the indoor camera trigger an alarm response or os it just for monitoring. For example if the camera was the only device say in a garage and the alarm is armed will it trigger an alarm if someone enters or do i also need other sensors like a motion detector for example.
