Two Factor Authentication

Aren't you embarrassed??? - For years numerous customers have asked you to provide two-factor authentication and yet somehow it is still not offered.  This is NOT a hard thing to add.  For got sake you are a SECURITY COMPANY!!!  Please do the right thing and help users protect their accounts by adding two factor authentication already.

Multi-factor authentication via SMS is already a feature on all SimpliSafe accounts. If you'd like to configure which phone numbers are enabled for authentication, add new numbers, or remove them, you can log into the SimpliSafe app and navigate to Menu > Manage Account > Multi-Factor Authentication.

Upvote for this feature as I was surprised to see this was not available.  Please add ASAP for peace of mind.

2FA should be a basic security feature from a security company. Having support for U2F security keys would be a plus.

Upvote. Specifically for supporting U2F too as part of the multi-factor authentication push.

Seriously SS?!?!  I can't even believe I'm having to type this (not like you actually read or care about our user comments , but still...), You need to hurry up and get your act together, or else I'm moving on once something better comes along, and I can guarantee you that something will offer 2FA for account access.

As others have mentioned, you are a literal life-or-death security company, so freaking act like it!  You should be doing absolutely everything in your power to keep your customers as secure as possible at all times, and this includes the digital front.  Stop hoarding your money and instead invest some of it in common sense security measures like 2FA (if you even know what that means). You are currently an embarrassment to your customers, your industry, and the world at large.  Shame on you.  Fix it already!

I was just going through and setting up 2FA using Authy and I can't seem to find the 2FA option anywhere in Simplisafe. Am I just missing it? Does this SECURITY company not offer even basic 2FA functionality?

Very weird that this is missing. Get on it.

I'm embarrassed to own SimpliSafe now. SMH, not sure how I missed this before purchasing. Will not be recommending SS to anyone else at least until 2FA is added. Shame on you SS, this is BUSH LEAGUE.

Yes it is a shame but ss does not have that unfortunately. Everything else does in this world

Upvoting here as well.  I love my Simplisafe system, but after the news regarding the Amazon Ring hacks, I came here hoping to turn on 2FA for my devices, and was surprised I couldn't.  Simplisafe, why not implement this?  You would definitely stand out from the pack!

@joshrose - Actually, SS stands out from the pack because they DON'T offer it! It's standard on all the other security systems by now!

We need 2FA.

Just installed SimpliSafe and assumed two factor authentication was standard, and I'm SHOCKED that this isn't included. What the heck?? Who wants a camera on them in the privacy of their own home that is easily hacked by one-factor login!?!?! This is ridiculous! Everyone knows these things are hacked all the time without 2FA!

PLEASE OFFER TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION ASAP OR I AM RETURNING THIS PRODUCT AT ONCE!!!

I've come into some information which indicates that SS is working on 2FA.  Being SS, it may not be available soon though (they seem to have a very long development cycle).

^  that's an understatement, Seven, lol.

While we have two phone numbers listed for 2 Factor Authentication, only one is receiving the security code.   Is there a way to have separate logins for each of the managers so they can receive the security code based on their login?  Or have the code texted to both of the numbers listed?

Please allow us to remove two-factor authentication! This is annoying as I do not carry my phone with me all the time. I am considering quitting the service because of this!!

@trujillomark421 unfortunately as a security company, we do need to have strict security measures to keep your accounts safe. Right now, 2-Factor Authentication via phone or SMS are our only options, but we'll be sure to forward your concerns to our dev team.
