Time Change

...if you have no known incident before the change it's not anything that's actually going to affect you.

I have had situations in which I needed to provide evidence via my home security cameras. First, I sometimes go to my SimpliSafe Timeline and then reference my camera footage using the timestamp SS provides.

To give an example, someone ran into a visiting guest's vehicle. I heard something, woke, and went outside, but my guest did not see the damage to their car until the following day. I worked backward by utilizing the time I disabled the alarm system, but this post's topic caused a one hour difference/delay. As a result, I spent wasted time looking through hours of footage - until I remembered this issue. I went 15 minutes before I disabled the alarm (referencing the hour discrepancy), and there was the hit and run accident needed for the insurance company.

Yes, there has been one to several times per year where it has been a problem. Things occur at times where you need past proof, and this issue complicates them. In a perfect world, you would not need to worry about providing evidence of the past. Unfortunately, many people no longer tell the truth or do the right thing (as in the situation above, leaving a simple note and not driving off).

For me I know if something has happened quite quickly, not like several days, weeks, or months later...not to mention SS video is just 30 days access, yes?

A nuisance, an irritant because you know and look for it...yeah, OK, it shouldn't be that way. But, for me I just don't see that big of a deal. Any example of where a crook or whatever has got off the hook because of the hour difference in SS's timestamp?

I am not a programmer either, nor know the inner workings of SimpliSafe systems. So, I don't presume how easy it is to do.

What I do know, with certainty, is how easy it is to say how easy it should be when someone else has to do it.

Without detailed insider information it's impossibe to say what SS can or can't do with it. What others can do doesn't inherently mean so can SS.
