I've had this delayed notification issue for 2 days and it is still occurring. It is not a Verizon problem, when every other sms message is coming through immediately from multiple other sources. Hey, Simplisafe, when will you acknowledge you have a problem. I can't simply turn off notifications as that defeats the purpose, right?
Yes, there is a known issue affecting customers who have Verizon phones, where your Smart Alerts via SMS are being delayed or prevented from delivering. Our engineers continue to investigate the issue.
For those unfamiliar, the way that Smart Alerts via SMS works is by via a web-to-text gateway. That is, our server sends out all alerts as emails, and then when they reach your carrier, they're translated as regular text messages before they're sent to your phone. The issue is somewhere along that chain of communications.
If you have a smart phone (i.e. iPhone or Android), we strongly suggest using Push Notifications through the SimpliSafe app instead. Those alerts come directly from our website to your phone, and should be much more reliable.
Johnny M. I was also just informed by CSR that Verizon was having an issue, I am also having issue with the wi-fi disconnect problem(this is a brand new replacement base) that has current firmware. Can the firmware be pushed again to this base in case.it is corrupted? I have asked this question also in another post.
I did answer your other post
here. But long story short: If you already have the latest firmware, then we cannot push it again to your system.
That WiFi issue is a totally different one from this thread's main topic.
Our representative over the phone should have been troubleshooting that connection - for example by looking out for sources of interference, and moving your Base Station to a different spot where the signal can have a clearer path to your WiFi router.

As of about 9:00 PM last evening I started getting a backlog of texts from Simplisafe. And today texts are being received in a timely fashion.
Thank you to the "whoever you are" be it Simplisafe or Verizon for working this problem through and fixing the issue.
