"with google services installed"

This seems like an unusual thing for someone to specify. Did those services not used to be installed on your phone and/or were they modified in some way previously?

For what it's worth, I'm running Android 14 (UP1A.231005.007) on a Pixel 6 Pro and had no problems re-installing the app just now after I uninstalled it. What build, exactly, are you running? Is there anything at all different about how you installed that build versus the normal OTA process that 99.999999% of Android users use?

@jbakunis The SimpliSafe mobile app is only compatible with Android 11 or above. Since you're running Android 14, your device should certainly be compatible.

Is the SimpliSafe app currently downloaded on your phone? Or is this a new device that you're trying to download the app on. If the SimpliSafe app is currently downloaded on your device, it may help to remove it and try downloading it again.

@emily_s  this is a new install . other users of grapheneos have installed it no problem . so it could be something I need to reconfigure . does the app require any special requirements besides being above android 9 ?

@jbakunis Aside from being an Android 11 or higher, there can be certain operating systems that aren't compatible with the SimpliSafe mobile app. I'm thinking there may be something within GrapheneOS that isn't allowing you to download the app. You mention that other users running GrapheneOS have been able to download the SimpliSafe app, though. I would recommend comparing the configuration on your device to theirs to see if there is a difference between them that may be causing this problem.

@emily_s I have a pixel 8 traded it in from my pixel 6 in my notifications. Push notifications still will not work on my phone. I don't know what else to do

Do you have any suggestions

@pockatooka16 Did you see our comment back to you on the other thread you commented in? If not, we are putting our response here as well:

Is your phone set to Do Not Disturb? If it is, you will not receive push notifications if the SimpliSafe app is not open on your device. If it set to Do Not Disturb, you can modify your phone's settings to ensure that you still receive push notifications. To do this:

  1. Open Settings on your Pixel 6
  2. Select Modes and Routines
  3. Check to see if an existing Mode or Routine is turned on. If one is, add the SimpliSafe app to it to allow push notifications while in Do Not Disturb

But if your phone is not on Do Not Disturb, you should then check if the SimpliSafe app is in your phone's Private Space. We do not recommend putting the SimpliSafe app in your Private Space, as that can limit the push notifications it receives. To remove the app from Private Space:

  1. Open Settings on your Pixel 6
  2. Tap Security & Privacy
  3. Under Privacy, select Private Space
  4. To unlock, authenticate it with your Private Space lock
  5. Long-press on the SimpliSafe app icon and select Uninstall
    1. After removing the app from your Private Space, you may need to redownload it in the Google Play Store

Since this is a new phone, please also check to ensure that push notifications are enabled. See the How Do I Set Up Push Notifications On My Smartphone article in the Help Center for step by step insturctions on enabling push notifications.

I purchased a Simplisafe security system for my 90 year old mom who has no cell phone, iPad or computer. I was told by the company that i can purchase a streaming device such as a Roku or ONN and download their app from the play store to work on a television. Both Roku and ONN does not have the Simplisafe app. Any ideas on what devices might have this app?

@markmajoris I'm afraid you were given incorrect information. SimpliSafe accounts can only be accessed through our web app or the SimpliSafe mobile app for Android and iOS devices. Integrations are not available for set-top-boxes like Roku, ONN, or Fire TV.

All of this is incorrect or outdated.   Android 11 or above is required.

@dc123 this information was correct when initially posted, but recent updates have now made Android 11 or higher a requirement for using the SimpliSafe mobile app. We've gone ahead and updated our admins' responses to reflect this change.
