Any chance you used to pay for a monitoring service but recently cancelled it and are now on the free plan? If so then the mobile app will not work properly until you contact support and have them assign you the free monitoring group on their end. This may or may not be the cause of your issues but this situation (downgraded monitoring plan, app or parts of app stopped working) is reported pretty regularly on the SimpliSafe subreddit.
