Can't type master pin in app

I upgraded my system and tried to use the app. The app requires me to enter the master pin. It shows me the serial number and 4 dashes where the pin goes. Problem is there is no way to enter the pin. The keyboard isn't available to type.

I am also having that problem. I also cannot see all of things on my online account. It is not recognizing my devices. At first it was not connected to the dispatch but that part has been solved. It takes forever to get through and one day I was disconnected 4 times.

Here is the fix. I also was having the same issue. I found what worked. I logged into SimpliSafe on my phone from the web. Not the app. I use safari. When I logged in I received an email to verify my phone. Then the master pin allowed me to use keyboard. Did all this on my iPhone. Not computer

Having the same problem as others on this thread.  I completely rebooted my iPhone, but that didn't help.  But the solution in this post DID work.

I logged into the SimpliSafe website using my iPhone and Safari.  (iPhone is running iOS 13.6.1). I was able to enter my PIN in the browser window.  

After closing the browser, I relaunched the SimpliSafe app and was able to bring up the keyboard and enter the PIN.  

Just FYI, I'm a coder and I can state with confidence that this is a problem with the coding of the app.  Prior to logging in using the browser (Safari), the app was looking for some type of authorization token that wasn't there.  Once that token was present, the app was enable to bring up the keyboard.  I'm guessing this is an issue with push notifications from SimpliSafe to the phone and the app.

This is still occurring as of 12-03-2023.  I can type the pin in, but there is not visible button to save the pin and move forward in the app.  I did log-in to SimpleSafe on my Mac via Safari, and was able to create a pin.  I've now closed and reopened the app and it now says I am almost there (but none of my sensors have been added yet).  The app is now taking me to adding monitoring devices after an update.  This should be fixed by now!

@jodyshue,

Are you having the same issue as the original poster? If so, you should be able to tap just above the blank spaces and your phone's keyboard should pop up.
If you have a computer, you can also try logging into www.simplisafe.com/login
And you can confirm the Master PIN through that interface instead.

I am having the exact same issue. You cannot touch the screen and make any keyboard come up. I have been tapping on it for weeks hoping the bug issue would be resolved.  It isn't just my iphone either, my husband finally downloaded the app today and he has an android. He's stuck and can't bring anything up because it wants the master pin but no way to enter it. Many people no longer have a home computer and whole point of the Phone app is for it to work as an app. Is there a bug fix coming? This issue clearly has been brought to your attention.

Having the same frustrating issue setting up a camera and unable to input a wifi network name into the app as the keyboard does not appear

I found that turning the iphone completely off and restarting then opening the simplisafe app as the first action resulted in the keyboard appearing at the right time  and setup was then simple and straightforward.
