Congratulations on upgrading to the next generation of SimpliSafe. This article will walk you through the steps you need to take to transition from your Gen 2 SimpliSafe system to your new Gen 3 system.

Getting Started:

1. Disarm your old system by setting the system to OFF

2. Power down your old system by unplugging the Base Station from power and removing the batteries.

3. Power on your new Base Station by plugging it into power. Then remove the battery tab.

1. You should hear the Base Station say “Welcome to SimpliSafe”

Setting Up Your New Base Station:

1. Log onto the SimpliSafe Web App at simplisafe.com/activate and then click ‘Transfer Monitoring’. 

1. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete that step.

Setting Up Your New System:

1. Once you have transferred your account to your new Gen 3 SimpliSafe, you can start setting up the system.

2. The light on your Base Station should be white, meaning that the system is in pairing mode.

3. Pull out the battery tab on your Keypad. It should search for, and connect to, your new Base Station automatically.

1. If you have multiple Keypads, don’t worry about the others for now.

4. Follow the prompts on your Keypad screen to set up your new system. 

1. Your old sensors won’t work with your new, Gen 3 system. Simply remove the old sensors and replace them with your Gen 3 ones. 

5. When you are done setting up your sensors, make sure to download the SimpliSafe Mobile App to set up any cameras - and to get the most out of your Gen 3 system.
