What It Means

The Wireless Outdoor Security Camera requires a Gen 3 Base Station with the latest firmware updates to run smoothly. How To Fix It

Before setting up your Outdoor Camera, you will need to update the Base Station’s firmware via the Keypad. To update the Base Station’s firmware, take the following steps:

1. Look for a gear icon on the Keypad and bring it near the Base Station. 

2. Push the left side of the Keypad’s screen where the gear icon is to bring up the Install Menu.

3. Select “Install Update” by pushing the right side of the Keypad’s screen.

Please note, system updates to the Base Station and Keypad do not happen automatically, you need to initiate them when you see a gear symbol on the Keypad or receive a notification on the SimpliSafe mobile app. When your system is updating, it will be offline for about 8-12 minutes.
