What Is A Master PIN?

Your Master PIN is a four-digit sequence used to arm and disarm your SimpliSafe system, lock and unlock your Smart Lock, and is the number required in order to access the Keypad’s menu. When setting up your system, you will be prompted to create a Master PIN.

Please note that the Master PIN is different from your Safe Word. Your Safe Word will be needed to make changes to your monitoring subscriptions and to verify or cancel an alarm event when you’re on the phone with our team of experts.

How To Find Your Master PIN

If you forgot your Master PIN, or would like to change it, we can help you regain access to your system and reset it via the SimpliSafe mobile app by taking the following steps:

1. In the SimpliSafe mobile app, open the Menu by tapping the three-bar ≡ icon

2. Select Location Profile

3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap on PINs 

4. Select the PIN you’d like to reveal and/or update

5. Tap into the second line labeled PIN to reveal the number

How To Change Your Master PIN

You can change your Master PIN on your Keypad or in the SimpliSafe mobile app by taking the following steps:

Keypad:

1. Push the Menu button

2. Enter your Master PIN

3. Scroll up to PINs and select Master

4. Type in your new four-digit sequence and hit Set

SimpliSafe Mobile App:

1. Tap the ☰ icon in the top left corner of the screen

2. Choose Location Profile

3. Select PINs at the bottom of the screen

4. Under Master PIN, type in a new four-digit sequence

5. Tap Done to save your new Master Pin
