Device and Sensor Settings

Updated

A Keypad that says Home on its screen

Does your Keypad look like the one pictured to the left? Then you're in the right place! You've got the Gen 3 SimpliSafe system. If you purchased a system in 2017 or earlier, you have the Original SimpliSafe. Click here to view the article about the Original SimpliSafe. If you're not certain which system you have, you can tell the difference here.

Changing Device Settings

Device Settings are sensor-specific settings. If you are looking to change your System Settings—which refer to settings for your entire system, like Wi-Fi connection and chime and siren volumes—please visit our Base Station and System Settings article.

Each type of sensor has its own list of settings, and each sensor’s settings can be changed separately. For example, if you would like to change how your entry sensors respond in OFF mode and you have two entry sensors, you would need to change this setting for each sensor.

You can access Device Settings via your SimpliSafe® mobile app, Keypad’s menu, or SimpliSafe® web app to change a sensor’s name, remove a sensor from your system, or change its settings.

How To Access Device Settings Using the SimpliSafe® Mobile App

  1. Navigate to the “My System” gear at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select “Device Settings”.

  3. Select the device you want to customize settings for.
