how do you change camera settings?

one of my cameras went black and white, I saw another post mentioning camera settings but there are no configurable settings I can find for the camera -- HELP!

Hi @dalekane ,

You can find the options in the SimpliSafe app on your phone, under Menu > Settings > Camera Settings. 

Though you mention that your camera has gone 'black and white', so it sounds like it's switched to Night Vision Mode. By default, your camera would switch to that mode when the light level in the scene is low enough. So you might just want to think about either bringing more light into the room, or moving your camera to a different spot.

I tried to use this path to adjust the brightness (it's too bright, image is washed out) on my newly installed outdoor camera.  I could find no way to adjust the brightness - is there a way to do so?

@tgf​ There is not a setting that allows you to adjust the brightness of the camera's view. What may help is to toggle the picture quality of the camera to another setting, and then back to your preferred setting by taking the following steps:

  1. In the SimpliSafe app, navigate to My System > Camera Settings > [Your Camera]
  2. Under Video Quality, set it to a different option (e.g. 480p, if it wasn't set to that already).
  3. Hit Save on the top right.
  4. Go back to Video Quality and set it back to your preferred setting.
  5. Hit Save again.

Toggling the camera's setting can force the camera to re-adjust with the correct exposure.

I have relocated my outdoor camera and would like to change the angle of the lenses… how do I do that?

Why do I have to view each video recording my camera makes during the day and then make 5 clicks in 5 different places to delete the videos? Can you not make a single click delete for a day or a select all option so that you don't have to spend hours to delete a days worth of videos due to the camera being set to motion detection in the home mode?

@mcs1111x1 At this time, camera recordings do need to be deleted one at a time, but we have submitted a feature request for a bulk delete option to our dev team for their consideration. Be sure to follow this thread in the Community to be notified whenever we have an update!
