How to add a second location/account to the SimpliSafe phone app?=

We have a SimpliSafe system running in a workshop on residential property.  Purchased a second system (monthly monitoring second bill) for our home.  Is it possible to monitor two locations/two accounts on one SimpliSafe app?  Info on general internet is outdated.  Options do not appear on the current app.  Thank you!

Hi @debbie.click,

Yes, it's very easy to monitor multiple systems from one SimpliSafe account. To get that set up you'll first need to activate your new system. You can do that either through the app by choosing ‚ò∞ Menu -> Manage Monitoring -> Add or Upgrade Monitoring and then follow the prompts from there or you can activate the system through your account on SimpliSafe.com by choosing activate new service from the menu -> Add or Upgrade Monitoring and then follow the prompts from there.

Once your new system has been activated you'll be able to switch back and forth between the two locations in your SimpliSafe account.

I set our vacation home up on my partners  app. How do I monitor from my app? We have three systems.

@denicegardner3did you set up that vacation home system under the same email address as your other systems?

If so, when you log into the app, you can switch between all three locations by tapping the 🏘️ house icon on the top right of the screen.

Is there a way to do it if the systems are under different email addresses.

@K10​ unfortunately no, if each location is under a different email/login, then you'd have to log out of one to access the other. You can only stay logged into one email/login at a time.

If you want both addresses under the same account, give our Support team a call at 800-548-9508. We can transfer the location for you.

Took me forever to figure out how to see other locations. It is not intuitive tapping the “Home” button, rather than location settings, if it’s a different location. 

To top it off if you upgrade your system, it keeps the old system as another location until you Contact Simplisafe to cancel. You’d think one account, one location, just upgrade the system, but no, that’s shady business. Why would I want to pay for an old system I can’t use after it’s been decommissioned and shutdown? There’s no prompts that tell you you’ll have to do that, no email, no nothing, you’ll just see you’re getting billed for two accounts.

@ncwisenor​ a fair point on that icon not being super clear. If I recall, our dev team did add a popup that appears when you first set up a second location, to let you know what that menu does.

As for the upgrade process, what we should have done for you was simply replace the Base Station serial number listed on your existing monitoring location, so that our system will look out for signals from that new Base Station, and ignore the old one.

It sounds like instead, we set up a totally new location - which is how you end up with two separate active locations and monitoring plans.

Could not add a second location to my current account. Talked with SS Service for over an hour then got hung up on. They could not get it to work???????????
