Do bird strikes activate the glass break sensors?

Hi @Jonny Gogo,

The Glassbreak Sensors for the All-New SimpliSafe system specifically detects the unique frequency of shattering glass so it is very unlikely that the sensor would be triggered by a bird strike. That being said, if you are still concerned about that possibility (and to answer your second question), if you are planning on only using Home mode for your system at night, then you would be able to have the Glassbreak Sensor only be armed at night by setting it to only be armed in Home mode. This can be done through a SimpliSafe Keypad or through the SimpliSafe app.

That's a good idea. And then during the day, I wonder if I could set them to silent alert, to test them for a month and see if we get any avian face plants to the window that cause a sensor to activate. In the event we would want to have the glass break sensors active all day when we go on vacation.

Yes, setting your sensors to Secret Alert is a great way to test the effectiveness of your sensors without having to worry about the alarm being triggered. Any of your sensors can be set to Secret Alert when the alarm is in Off mode. This will allow you to have the added security of having the system fully armed at night while also allowing you to get the Secret Alerts during the day. Once you feel comfortable that the sensors are working properly for you, you can always set the sensors back to alarm for whichever modes you choose.
