REFERRAL PROGRAM

I referred a friend and they received the system. I have made 3 requests for the $200 referral. 2 weeks ago I was promised the gift card via email. All necessary info on new customer was given and confirmed.  As of today no email. I called this morning and was put on hold and eventually they hung up. I have been a long time customer and have been very satisfied with their service and I am very surprised that they are not making good on their referral program.

Do you happen to know how long ago your friend purchased their SimpliSafe system? As part of our referral program's policies, the gift card will be sent out 45 days after your friend completed their purchase. 

But if it has been longer than 45 days, please let me know and I can get you in touch with a member of our Specialist team for further assistance.

I have had the same problem.  Made the referral because I was happy with my service, called 3 times, with excuses every time.  I have all documentation.  Referral program is definitely a scam.  I made the referral in July, and still have not received a gift card.

@ketracy We do apologize to hear about this experience. Looking into your account, we do see that you contacted our Support team about this, and they filled out a form requesting for our third-party to resend the gift card.

 

You should receive an email with your gift card in 5-7 business days. But if you do not receive it, please let us know and we can escalate this to our team of specialists.

@marycampo how long ago was your referral link used to purchase a SimpliSafe system? The third-party we work with sends out the gift card 45 days after the system is purchased.

 

But if it has been more than 45 days, please contact out Support team and they can help fill out a resend form that goes directly to the third-party.

Same here, I have made 2 referrals and they have not sent anything. When I called customer support they are asking me for my friends' account number and other information pertaining to their account which is ridiculous :( 

Their referral program is just a scam. Will not refer anyone from now on :(

@mmidha0119 in cases like yours, it's important for our agents to get that information so they can verify everyone's accounts, and so they can fill out a resend form with the third-party we work with that actually distributes these gift cards. 

 

We see that the agent you spoke to successfully submitted your resend form, and you should receive your gift card within 10 days. If you do not, please let us know.

Called customer service regarding the referral for my friend who has activated their system on October 18th, I was put on hold for more than 30 mins and then disconnected. :(

@john6918​ I will never refer anyone again after their latest marketing ploy. I used the referral link and then added my mom to our account as she is elderly and doesn't want to put her credit card info online. They say I don't qualify despite following their rules. I have paid for monitoring from them for over 10-15 years. Not anymore. I will get my 200 back 1 way or another. So disheartening. Oh, I will also let everyone I know to avoid doing business with them.

Went through whole verification process through Chat on June 2, 2025 for January 2025 referral never received.  confirmed person I referred order number, name, email address, safeword. Simplisafe verified it all and promised would receive email with new link for $200 visa gift card. Never received. Last chat

Contacted via chat today and agent wanted me to gi through whole process again. Has to be a way to escalate

I'm going through the same situation. I used their referral link to set up an account for my mother. I ended up attaching her alarm system to mine to help ease her burden. Then they said that I don't qualify because I "used the same email." I didn't. I've paid for monitoring for over 10+ years. Maybe even 15. I will get my 200+ more back by not paying the roughly $75 monitoring fee for the 2 systems. I'm SO incredibly disappointed with Simplysafe. All over 200. They would have made that money back in a few short months PLUS continued fees associated with monitoring.  Not anymore. I am absolutely canceling monitoring now. This was a tricky, greedy play. Shame on you, Simplisafe.

@paulannehughes​ Before you cancel, suggest you call and ask to be contacted by a supervisor or manager. SimpliSafe, like any company, has their rules, and for good reason.  Fraud is rampant everywhere for everything, and I am sure their referral program is one of them.

That said, a bit of explanation to the right person should set this straight.  I would at least give them a chance. In my experience over the years SS has been more than fair, especially on the rare occasion when something goes south.

I had the team investigate this further, and they just notified me that the gift card was sent.
