Never signed up

I never even signed up and they repeatedly tried billing my credit card, which only worked for the purchase (I used a one time burner card to buy the system). They constantly called and even harrassed me. Finally they cancelled the monitoring and now I learn none of the cameras work. I feel as though I was deceived believing that the camera's did not need a monthly service.

Hi @martinjameslowe ,

So sorry you didn't have the best experience.

During the activation process, we do let you know that your system will be activated on the Core (formerly Fast Protect™) Monitoring Plan - as that is the default. You get one month free so you can try all the features, but you will be charged after that through the credit card used to purchase your system (unless you change it before then).

But during that process, you also have the option of declining the Monitoring Service, and signing up instead to Basic App Control. That works like a "monitoring plan", where your system still connects to our service for features like notifications and app controls, as well as the ability to livestream through the cameras (without recording). Basic App Control does not have a monthly charge.

It sounds like when you called in, you specifically asked to cancel. What that does is fully disconnects your system from our service, so it can be passed on to another user to set up with their own account. We should have given you the option to instead downgrade to Basic App Control.

We suggest contacting our Support team again to go reactivate your sytem under Basic App Control. And head over to the What are the service plan options? page on the Help Center for more detailed info on what's offered for each plan.
