Does anyone use the water sensors in their crawl space?

I have an encapsulated crawl space with 2 sump pumps.  I have 2 alarms that the contractor supplied me, but you have to crawl underneath to turn them off if they are to ever go off and Im not able to do that.  I thought about swapping them out for the Simplisafe sensors instead....  Does anyone here have a similar setup and is using Simplisafe instead?  And if so, how long do the batteries usually last?  Thanks!

Yes, I have one that I use for this. I've had it for less than a year so I can't say how long the batteries last in the real world but according to https://support.simplisafe.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023810112-How-long-do-the-batteries-last- it is supposed to be 3-5 years.

Honestly, the temperature sensor has proven to be pretty versatile. It even works in my fridge so I can see if the temperature ever gets to warm for some reason. I was genuinely surprised the base unit could communicate with it in the appliance but it definitely works.

I have one in my garage next to my water heater and the battery has lasted for several years.  My garage gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

I'm not sure if the 2 your contractor supplied work like the SS sensor (with the 2 prongs that have to contact water) but if they do function the same, you could try extending the prongs with some wire so you can mount the sensor closer to your access door and run the wires to another area of the crawl space and place them where the original sensor contacts would have been located.  You might have to test it and see if it'll work before placing in your crawlspace.
