SS3 not communicating with smoke alarm

After replacing my defective SS3 base station, the smoke alarm doesn't show up in my device list. How do I re-establish communications from my SS3 base station to my single smoke alarm?

If it is not in the device list, then it would be likely you have to add it to the list.

I was able to resolve through the keypad (add device) and then pressing the test button on the smoke alarm.
