Smoke detector

I have the original system.  Yesterday my smoke alarm activated there, was no detectable smoke in the house (got call promptly), my wife and I do not smoke and we were not cooking.  After trying to silence the alarm to no avail I replaced the battery that quieted the alarm and reinstalled it. Today we now notice a yellow light is on which was not on before except when it alarmed yesterday.  .

The yellow light MAY indicate that you did not fully seat the detector on it's base.  You have to go "past" a click to get the bump on the base to press the tamper switch on the back of the detector.

Going past the click to get to the bump did the trick.  Did not read this in the written installation instructions.  Many thanks
